Care For Pets – How To Choose The Right One

A month ago my dear baby had a tooth abscess and the vet recommended I take him to the ASPCA Animal shelter. The staff at the shelter was very kind, understanding, caring, and helped my pet tremendously. However, after all is said and done, I cannot but blame myself for my pet’s demise.

Parenting advice: aggressive pets, adoption, and psychological trauma. Dear Care and Feeding, Soon it will be another year since my beloved dog, 2-year-old Oliver, was euthanized after he bit toddler, a visitor’s child. On October 7th I visited the ASPCA farm in northeast Ohio where the facility runs a humane shelter. My visit was not planned. My son and I were visiting with our new neighbors in the area, Todd and Amy.

We drove up in the morning, met the staff, and were assigned to a volunteer guide for the day. While we were in the van, our new neighbor, Amy, asked if we could take our pet; we graciously declined. We arrived at the barn just as their workers were loading the dogs and cats that would be for adoption. We were welcomed by a loving team of volunteers who quickly noticed our pet’s grooming needs and quickly offered their expert care. Our pets were loaded into a large blue carrier for the afternoon and returned to our home later that evening.

The care for pets from the ASPCA staff was excellent. None of us had any sense of dread as we approached the gates to the enormous building filled with animals needing care. There were numerous cats, dogs, horses, and many other exotic pets waiting for loving owners. We were greeted warmly by an extremely polite and helpful caretaker who ushered us to a large waiting area where a sitter awaited our arrival.

As we settled into our seats, our new friend across the aisle came over and announced his or her name. She was named Sweet Pea, an adorable Maltese. We all couldn’t help taking a picture of this sweet dog and placing it on the table in front of us. Someone gave us each a bag of homemade cookies to snack on while we waited for our new friend. I can’t tell you how wonderful it felt to know we were adopting a wonderful pet and serving her out in such a caring and loving manner.

The care for pets from ASPCA was outstanding. The workers showed us all how to care for a cat or a dog correctly, and the professionals did an excellent job taking care of our new friend. The staff even brought us a book on proper feeding for your pet after we arrived home from the shelter, and we found that very helpful!
